Position Overview
As a Data Science Application Developer at BGI, you will be instrumental in developing, refining, and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms, as well as Python scripts and data analysis applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build, manage, and enhance unified data applications that streamline data-sharing across multiple platforms, partners, and organizations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Engineering and Software Development
- Work with internal and external customers to identify solution and data requirements.
- Design and implement robust data pipelines, data storage solutions, and integrate AI/ML algorithms.
- Develop Python scripts and comprehensive software applications to support data analysis.
- Create detailed documentation of development methodologies, processes, and applications.
2. Establishing a Data Ecosystem and Application Development Cycle
- Define initial use-cases with the test team to guide tool development.
- Develop detailed requirements for the tool suite and create a roadmap for its implementation.
- Manage daily tasks and ensure timely execution of development schedules.
3. Resource Exploration and Integration
- Assess and review existing visualization tools, such as CHEETAS.
- Identify and leverage available APIs for efficient data extraction and integration.
- Incorporate these resources into a seamless development pipeline.
4. Data Warehouse and Pipeline Development
- Create a robust data development pipeline within the F-35 Knowledge Management framework.
- Document the development pipeline and initial capabilities to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
- Build tools that address initial use-case requirements effectively.
5. Follow-On Use-Case Development
- Collaborate with the test team to expand use-cases and enhance existing tools.
- Iterate on the tool suite to support evolving requirements and create a sustainable development cycle.
- Maintain a structured roadmap for follow-on tool enhancements.
6. Exploratory Data Analysis Capabilities
- Develop and refine additional exploratory data analysis tools as needed.
- Document pipeline improvements and subsequent capabilities.
- Design tools tailored to meet the needs of follow-on use-cases.
7. Deliverables
- Detailed documentation of the development pipeline.
- Integrated Master Schedule.
